PEOPLE
PEOPLE
Josephat S. Hema
You lived in someone's womb for about 38 weeks to get
nourished and mature before you see the World outside, you later called her Mother.
You were a result of two people, a fusion of cells from them. Its people who
stayed by your mother's side to make your delivery safe. Some people prayed
outside and others in Church. Its people who came to congratulate your mother
and bring gifts. Your mother met people she never knew before in Clinics, with
neat white uniforms, they smiled at you, pinched your tender cheeks and nose,
They scared you jokingly and you did laugh, they weighed you, carried you up
when you cried and you stopped immediately, they attended both of you and
administered to you suitable medicaments. You grew up, using what people made
and ate what people cooked. A lot of strangers came into your life, they played
some significant parts and went away even without seeking for your gratitude, neither
your mother’s nor father’s. You had unique and expensive needs, your Mother and
Father endured it all till you grew up strong to walk and eat by your own.
You
got enrolled into Schools, met people who endured your undesirable behaviors in
learning, they shaped you as well. Some people cooked for you, some swept and
mopped for you, some ate the chalk dust for you, some spent sleepless nights
marking your exams and some stayed outside to guide your dorms. Back at home,
people worked hard to find money for your fees and a bunch of school contributions,
that they kept hopes on you to faithfully save them in future. They did their bests.
Your Pastor said he had been fasting and praying for his good boys to spend
righteously and successfully their youth, you being among the targeted ones,
that one day you would take over the Ministry, or rather being the integrous
and God fearing Government leader.
You became successful,
you joined colleges. Do you remember those who registered you? Wait, you came
through the gates, Security guides welcomed you and off course some smiling
faces showed you right offices to go, you met tireless people that enrolled you.
Some taught you for all the year till you became over qualified. You got your
dream works, you got promotion. Remember, there are people who clean your offices?
People who clean your car? People who prepare your tea? People who keep a watch
on your belongings, people who keep the road you drive safe, people who
serve your office needs, typing,
receive phone calls and so and so.
Listen, have you realized something?
That your life is a connection of a Million of
people's efforts.
You can't reach anywhere without them, no matter how little
they play part in your life, they make your greatness perfect.
Value them, never ignore or think they are less
important.
Love them tirelessly.
