I’VE BEEN IN TOMORROW.

I’VE BEEN IN TOMORROW
Josephat A Wangwe

Tomorrow never comes is what they say,
but I was in tomorrow just yesterday,
things were strange and new they seemed, sadly, tomorrow was the day road diverged, some left at the junction wondering of the right path.

tomorrow was the day flooded with tears,
killed in tomorrow was today’s young love, since betrayal’s spirit matured in tomorrow,
as they were born in tomorrow the not yet born beauties,
we played with romantic rules no more.

The haves and the haves not never dinned together,
values were outweighed by price’s weight, behind bars were tortfeasor’s assistants, screams were shielded with today’s bitcoins, at least our owners enjoyed their doings.

Darker than basement room of the tallest tower,
blood fought blood in whole of tomorrow,
we never mourned the dead in tomorrow, meanwhile jealous filled our hearts with hatred,
and goddess of revenge visited her trustee worshipers.

The road not taken overcrowded in tomorrow, shortcut ladder to success was our target,
no longer crucial were stairs to the land of milk and honey,
survival for the fittest to fit in the lift was our focus,
though few tried to swim against the flow.

Not today but tomorrow my eyes never opened,
not a hero but a zero caged bird,
when sun went up to fight the black sky,
that was the time I doomed with the perished moon,
today is here to enjoy,
who cares of tomorrow anyway!!!?

---End.
